What is Levest?

Levest is a combined hormonal contraceptive that can be used to prevent pregnancy. This form of contraception will not protect you against STIs, only a condom has that capability. Levest contains ethinylestradiol and levonorgestrel and these hormones prevent your ovaries from releasing an egg. This form of contraception will make it difficult for an egg to implant itself in the womb’s lining and will also make it difficult for the sperm to find the egg.

We advise that all of our patients seek the advice of either their doctor or prescriber before they begin their Levest treatment. This is to ensure that you receive the correct treatment for you.

How does Levest work?

Levest prevents your ovaries from releasing an egg. This pill also inhibits sperm from being able to find the egg and will make it difficult for an egg to implant itself into an individual’s womb lining.

We advise that all of our patients seek the advice of either their doctor or prescriber before they begin their Levest treatment. This is to ensure that you receive the correct treatment for you.

What are the active ingredients in Levest?

The active ingredients in Levest are ethinylestradiol and levonorgestrel.

We advise that all of our patients seek the advice of either their doctor or prescriber before they begin their Levest treatment. This is to ensure that you receive the correct treatment for you.

How do you take Levest?

When taking this pill you should take one pill every day for 21 days and preferably at the same time each day. You should not crush the pill but instead swallow it whole and with water. You should take a break from this pill every so often but should seek advice from either your doctor or prescriber to find out when this should be.

We advise that all of our patients seek the advice of either their doctor or prescriber before they begin their Levest treatment. This is to ensure that you receive the correct treatment for you.
