These capsules belong to a class of medication known as ACE Inhibitors (ACE stands for: Angiotensin-Converting Enzyme Inhibitors). ACE Inhibitors are so-called because they inhibit the enzyme that controls hormones relating to blood pressure. This means that they relax and widen the blood vessels, thereby making it easier for blood to flow through the body.
We advise that you consult your prescriber or doctor before you buy Ramipril.
The dose you are prescribed will vary according to the condition it is treating. Typically, you will be given a low dose to start, around 1.25mg to 2.5mg daily. As the treatment develops and you consult with your doctor, the dosage may be increased up to a maximum of 10mg daily.
You should take these capsules at the same time every day and they should swallowed whole with water.
If you miss a daily dose do not try and double dose to make up for it. Simply wait for your next standard dose. When first starting the medication you may feel dizzy, which is why it is often recommended that you take your first dose of Ramipril capsules at bedtime. You may also experience the dizzy effect when your dosage has been increased for the first time.
