About the product

Rigevidon tablets are a combined oral contraceptive pill containing ethinylestradiol (oestrogen) and levonorgestrel (progestogen), which can also be prescribed to help manage period pain (dysmenorrhoea). By preventing ovulation and regulating hormone levels, Rigevidon helps make periods lighter, more predictable, and less painful. It works by stabilising the lining of the womb and reducing the hormonal changes that trigger strong uterine contractions, which are often the cause of cramping. The tablets are usually taken once daily for 21 days, followed by a 7-day break during which a withdrawal bleed occurs. This cycle control can significantly improve menstrual comfort.
