About the product

Etoricoxib 30mg Tablets are a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used to relieve pain and inflammation in conditions such as osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, and gout. They work by selectively blocking the COX-2 enzyme, which is involved in producing prostaglandins - substances that cause pain, swelling, and inflammation. This targeted action helps ease symptoms while reducing the risk of some stomach-related side effects seen with traditional NSAIDs. Etoricoxib 30mg is usually taken once daily and provides long-lasting relief, helping improve mobility and quality of life. It should be used at the lowest effective dose for the shortest necessary time.

Overview

Etoricoxib 30mg Tablets are non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) used to treat pain and inflammation. They work by inhibiting COX-2 enzymes, which are involved in producing inflammatory substances in the body

Directions

You should always take Etoricoxib 30mg Tablets exactly as your doctor has told you. If you are unsure, check with them.

The usual recommendation is taking the tablet once a day, with or without food. The tablet should be swallowed whole with a glass of water and must not be crushed, chewed, or broken.

Side Effects

The following side effects can occur during treatment with Etoricoxib 30mg Tablets:

  • stomach pain
  • dry socket
  • swelling of the legs and/or feet due to fluid retention
  • dizziness, headache
  • palpitations
  • increased blood pressure
  • wheezing or shortness of breath
  • weakness and fatigue

If you experience any side effects, including any not mentioned in the patient information leaflet, speak to your doctor.

How it works

Etoricoxib works by selectively inhibiting cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2), an enzyme involved in producing prostaglandins that cause pain and inflammation. By specifically targeting COX-2 with minimal effect on COX-1 (which helps protect the stomach lining), etoricoxib reduces pain and inflammation while potentially lowering the risk of gastrointestinal side effects compared to traditional NSAIDs.

The medication is rapidly absorbed and distributed to inflamed tissues, providing effective relief. Etoricoxib has a long half-life, allowing for once-daily dosing while maintaining pain control throughout the day.
