Have a question ? we're here to help
Blissel Gel is a medication that contains the female hormone oestrogen. It is given to women, usually during menopause, to help reduce the symptoms of vaginal dryness, irritation, burning, or itching.
In medical terms this is known as ‘vaginal atrophy’. This is caused by a drop in the level of oestrogen in your body. This happens naturally after the menopause.
We advise that our patients speak with their doctor before using or buying Blissel Gel online to ensure that you receive the best treatment for your condition.
Blissel Gel works by replacing the oestrogen which is normally produce in the ovaries of women. When they reach menopause, their bodies produce less of it, which can lead to vaginal dryness, irritation, or itching. By being inserting into your vagina, Blissel Gel helps counteract these effects by providing the hormone directly where it is needed.
Always use Blissel 50mg Gel exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. If you are unsure, check with them. The following instructions explains how the gel should be used:
Remove the cap from the tube. Turn the tube upside down and use the cap’s sharp point to puncture the seal on the tube’s neck. Do not use if the seal is already broken.
Take out a cannula and the plunger. Fully insert the white plunger into the cannula. Screw the cannula onto the neck of the tube.
Squeeze the tube to fill the applicator with gel up to the filling line. The plunger will stop at the line.
Unscrew the cannula from the tube and replace the cap.
To apply, lie down and fully insert the applicator into the vagina. Slowly push the plunger all the way down to release the gel.
Remove the plunger from the cannula. Dispose of or rinse the cannula depending on whether it is disposable. Thoroughly rinse the reusable plunger with warm clean water so it is ready for the next use.
The patient information leaflet provides pictures of the different elements of the tube and applicator.
