Itraconazole Capsules contain itraconazole, an antifungal medicine used to treat a variety of fungal infections, including those affecting the skin, nails, mouth, and internal organs. It works by blocking the production of ergosterol, an essential component of fungal cell membranes. Without ergosterol, the cell membrane becomes weakened, causing the fungus to die and the infection to clear. Itraconazole is effective against a broad range of fungi, including Candida and Aspergillus species. The capsules are usually taken after a full meal to improve absorption, and the dose and duration of treatment depend on the type and severity of the infection. It should be used exactly as prescribed.
Itraconazole Capsules belong to a group of medicines called antimycotics for systemic use, also known as “antifungals“, which are used to treat infections caused by fungi.
