Side Effects

Like all medicines, this dermatitis treatment can cause side effects in some but not all people, where a few people may find that they suffer from some of the following after using this treatment:

Ingredients

Each gram of ointment contains: 1 mg of mometasone furoate. The other ingredients are hexylene glycol, purified water, phosphoric acid, propylene glycol stearate, white bees wax, and white soft paraffin.

Warnings

You should not use Elocon if:

  • You are allergic to mometasone furoate or any of the other ingredients.
  • You have other skin problems, as Elocon could make them worse. This is especially true for:
    • Rosacea or acne
    • Thinning of the skin (skin atrophy)
    • Dermatitis around the mouth
    • Genital itching or nappy rash
    • Cold sores, chickenpox, shingles, or warts
    • Ulcerated skin, wounds, or other skin infections
