About the product

Clopidogrel is an antiplatelet medicine, or blood thinner. It makes your blood flow through your veins more easily. What are Clopidogrel tablets?

Clopidogrel Tablet contains clopidogrel and belongs to a group of medicines called antiplatelet medicinal products. Platelets are very small structures in the blood, which clump together during blood clotting. When you buy Clopidogrel online or from your local GP it will prevent this clumping and reduce the chances of blood clots forming (a process called thrombosis).

You can buy Clopidogrel tablets online from e-surgery! We will require you to fill out a short 2-minute health questionnaire to ensure you are being prescribed the right medication. Once our independent prescribers have approved your request your medication will be sent out to you in the post.

Please see further FAQ’s for delivery options and details before you buy Clopidogrel tablets online.

What are Clopidogrel tablets used for?

Clopidogrel Tablets are taken by adults to prevent blood clots (thrombi) from forming in hardened blood vessels (arteries), a process known as atherothrombosis, which can lead to atherothrombotic events (such as stroke, heart attack, or death).

You may have been prescribed Clopidogrel Tablet to help prevent blood clots and reduce the risk of these severe events because:

  • You have a condition of hardening of arteries (also known as atherosclerosis)
  • You have previously experienced a heart attack, stroke or have a condition known as peripheral arterial disease
  • You have experienced a severe type of chest pain known as ‘unstable angina’ or ‘myocardial infarction’ (heart attack).
  • You have an irregular heartbeat, a condition called ‘atrial fibrillation’, and you cannot take medicines known as ‘oral anticoagulants’ (vitamin K antagonists) which prevent new clots from forming and prevent existing clots from growing

What are the symptoms of a heart attack?

Symptoms of a heart attack can include:

  • chest pain
  • pain in other parts of the body
  • sweating
  • shortness of breath
  • feeling sick (nausea) or being sick (vomiting)
  • an overwhelming sense of anxiety (similar to having a panic attack)
  • coughing or wheezing

Although the chest pain is often severe, some people may only experience minor pain, similar to indigestion. In some cases, there may not be any chest pain at all, especially in women, older people, and people who have diabetes.

It is recommended that if you are experiencing any of these symptoms in conjunction and think you may be at risk of having a heart attack you contact your GP immediately.

It’s the overall pattern of symptoms that helps to determine whether you are having a heart attack.

How to take Clopidogrel 75mg tablets?

When you buy Clopidogrel always take the medicine exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.

The recommended dose, including for patients with a condition called ‘atrial fibrillation’ (an irregular heartbeat), is one 75 mg tablet of Clopidogrel Tablet per day to be taken orally with or without food, and at the same time each day.

If you have experienced severe chest pain (unstable angina or heart attack), your doctor may give you 300 mg of Clopidogrel tablets (4 tablets of 75 mg) once at the start of treatment. Then, the recommended dose is one 75 mg tablet of Clopidogrel tablets per day as described above.

You should take Clopidogrel tablets for as long as your doctor continues to prescribe them.
