Gaviscon Advance Heartburn & Indigestion Tablets are used to relieve the symptoms of heartburn, acid indigestion, and reflux. They contain sodium alginate, which forms a protective layer that floats on top of the stomach contents, helping to prevent acid from flowing back into the oesophagus, and potassium bicarbonate, which neutralises excess stomach acid. This dual action provides fast, long-lasting relief and helps protect the lining of the oesophagus from irritation. The tablets are chewed thoroughly after meals and at bedtime, as needed. Gaviscon Advance is suitable for adults and children over 12 years and can be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding if advised by a healthcare professional.
