Overview

Elleste Solo tablets are a hormone replacement therapy (HRT) that is used to relieve symptoms of menopause in women including:

• reduced sex drive

Directions

It is recommended that you take your tablet on the first day of bleeding if you are still experiencing regular periods. If you are not experiencing regular periods you can commence treatment immediately. The strength of your tablets will depend on what your doctor has prescribed based off medical examination. It is often advised that you take one tablet at the same time each day that suits you. Ensure that you swallow the tablet whole with water and follow the direction of the arrows on the pack until the pack is empty. When you have completed one strip of tablets start the next strip immediately. Using the arrows on the medication package allows you to keep track of when you have taken a tablet.

• hypersensitivity reactions
• visual impairment
• palpitation
• hives
• breast pain
• painful reddish skin nodules (erythema nodosum).

Rare side effects include:

• increase in body and facial hair
• acne
• muscle cramps
• pre-menstrual syndrome
• painful periods
• vaginal discharge

How it works

Elleste Solo tablets contain the active ingredient estradiol hemihydrate, a form of the female hormone oestrogen. Menopause causes the reduction of levels in oestrogen, by taking Elleste Solo tablets oestrogen is increased thus reducing side effects of menopause.

Taking an oestrogen tablet can increase the chances of endometrial cancer due to a thickened lining of the womb. To counteract these effects you must also be take progesterone.

You can buy a progesterone alongside Elleste Solo tablets online from e-Surgery or without if you already have a supply. You can only take this medication without support of a progesterone tablet if you have has a hysterectomy.
