In order to reset an Accu-Chek Instant glucose meter experiencing an electronic error, remove the batteries and press and hold either meter button for at least two seconds. Release the button, wait at least 20 seconds, then reinsert the batteries. Turn the meter on and perform a blood glucose or control test to check that it is working correctly. You may need to reset the time and date afterwards.

The Accu-Chek Instant blood glucose meter does not require manual calibration or coding before use. To check that your meter and test strips are working correctly, you can perform a control test using the compatible Accu-Chek control solution.

Follow the instructions in the user manual and compare the result with the acceptable range printed on the test strip container. If the control result is outside the expected range, check the strips and solution before repeating the test.
