Is Laxido a laxative or a stool softener?

Laxido is an osmotic laxative. It works by drawing water into the bowel to soften stools and make them easier to pass. While it has a stool-softening effect, it is classed as a laxative rather than a traditional stool softener like docusate sodium.

How quickly does Laxido take to work?

Laxido usually takes 1 to 2 days to produce a bowel movement. The exact timing varies depending on the severity of constipation and individual response. For best results, follow the dosing instructions and drink plenty of fluids.

Which is more effective, Fybogel or Laxido?

Fybogel is a bulk-forming laxative, while Laxido is an osmotic laxative. Laxido may work faster and is often preferred for more stubborn constipation, while Fybogel is gentler and better for regular bowel maintenance. The effectiveness depends on the cause and severity of constipation.

When is the best time to take Laxido?

Laxido can be taken at any time of day, with or without food. Spacing doses evenly throughout the day can help maintain regular bowel movements. If using once daily, many people prefer morning use to encourage a bowel movement later the same day.
