Cetirizine Dihydrochloride Tablets are a non-drowsy antihistamine used to relieve symptoms of allergies such as hay fever, pet allergies, and dust mite reactions. They work by blocking the effects of histamine, a substance released during an allergic reaction that causes itching, sneezing, runny nose, and watery eyes. Cetirizine is generally well tolerated and allows most people to carry on with daily activities without feeling sleepy.

How it works

Cetirizine works by blocking a specific part of the body’s allergy response. Normally, when you have an allergic reaction, your body releases a chemical called histamine. This histamine attaches to certain spots (called H1 receptors) in your body and causes allergy symptoms like itching, swelling, and mucus production. Cetirizine stops histamine from attaching to these spots, which helps reduce these allergy symptoms.
