Mounjaro (Tirzepatide) Injectable pen is used to treat obesity in adults. It works by mimicking the effects of the hormones GIP and GLP-1 to regulate appetite, feelings of fullness, and blood sugar levels. Your package of one injectable pen will include 4 needles.

Mounjaro (Tirzepatide) Injection is a medicine that is used for weight loss and weight maintenance in adults. It contains the active substance tirzepatide. It works by regulating your appetite, reducing hunger cravings that will make it easier to lose weight.
Mounjaro (Tirzepatide) Injection is recommended to be injected once a week under the skin of your upper arm, thigh of belly. You should usually repeat the injection on the same day each week. You may need help if injecting it into the upper arm.
You can inject the same area of your body each week, however, make sure to inject into a different site within that area.
You can inject Mounjaro (Tirzepatide) Injection at any time of the day, and it can be done with or without eating a meal. You should try to use this medicine on the same day each week. It is possible to change the injection day if you forget to take it, but make sure that it has been at least 3 days since your last injection. You should then continue to use Mounjaro (Tirzepatide) Injection on that new day.
The normal dosing regiment for Mounjaro begins at the 2.5mg dose. This dose is then gradually increased by 2.5mg every 4 weeks until you are taking 15mg, which is the highest possible dose.
However, it is important to note that dose increases are not mandatory and should only be done if you are tolerating your current dose well. If you would like to remain on a particular dose, please include this information during the online consultation for our prescribers to view.
Important: please do not try to increase your dose earlier than the prescribed protocol. This will not make you lose weight any faster and is likely to cause more side effects.

Contact your doctor immediately if you’ve accidentally taken too much Mounjaro (Tirzepatide) Injection.
Taking too much of this medicine can potentially cause low blood sugar and make you feel sick or be sick.
If you forget to take a dose of Mounjaro (Tirzepatide) Injection, you should use it as soon as you remember if it has been 4 days or less since you should’ve had your injection. If it has been more than 4 days since you should’ve had your injection, you should skip the missed dose and then continue as normal, taking the next dose on your usual weekday.
Mounjaro (Tirzepatide) Injection should be kept out of the sight and reach of children. It should be refrigerated. Do not use it if the injection pen has been frozen. The injection pen can be stored unrefrigerated below 30°c for up to thirty days, after which it must be disposed of.
Check the expiry date which is stated on the pen label and the carton. If it has passed the expiry date, which refers to the last day of that month, do not use it.
Mounjaro (Tirzepatide) Injection is for use in adults who have obesity (BMI of 30 kg/m2 or more) or who are overweight (BMI between 27 and 30 kg/m2) and have weight-related health problems like diabetes or high blood pressure. BMI (Body Mass index) measures weight in relation to height.
Mounjaro (Tirzepatide) Injection shouldn’t be used during pregnancy. It is currently not known if this medicine is safe for use during pregnancy. It is recommended to use contraception while using this medicine.
It is also unknown whether this medicine affects breast-feeding. If you are pregnant, think you may be pregnant, plan on having a baby or are breast-feeding, speak to your doctor for advice before using this medicine.
