What is Acnecide?

Acnecide contains the active ingredient benzoyl peroxide which attacks bacteria, which is often a main cause of acne. Acne appears as blackheads or whiteheads; which people often refer to as pimples or spots. Acnecide is used as a form of acne treatment. This condition appears as blackheads or whiteheads (pimples or spots). Acnecide can be used for acne on the face, chest or back. 

How do you take Acnecide?

Always use Acnecide gel exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has told you.

Acnecide should be applied to clean dry skin in a thin later once or twice a day. 

Side effects of Acnecide?

As with any form of medication, using an Acnecide gel has side effects. For a full list of side effects, please read the Patient Information Leaflet of Acnecide.  Below are a few of the common side effects of using an Acnecide: 

  • Dry skin 
  • Skin redness 
  • Peeling of the skin 
  • Burning sensation of the skin 
  • Itching of the skin 
  • Pain of the skin 
  • Skin irritation

Interactions with alcohol and food?

Alcohol dries out the skin, so it is best to limit intake when taking using the course of treatment. 

Any interactions with other drugs?

Acencide does not interact with any drugs. 

Is there any reason why I would not be able to take Acnecide?

You cannot use Acnecide if you are allergic to any of the ingredients.

You should not use any other medicines with peeling, irritant and drying effects. 

Why should I take Acnecide?

Acnecide is antibacterial and will therefore kill the acne causing bacteria on the surface of the skin. This means that Acnecide effectively reduces the appearance of acne.
