Telfast 180mg tablets are a medication used to ease the symptoms of hayfever and other allergies, prescribed to adults and children over 12 years of age. Telfast 180mg helps relieve the symptoms such as sneezing, a running or blocked nose and itchy eyes. The active ingredient in Telfast 180mg is called Fexofenadine Hydrochloride.
Telfast 180mg works to combat hayfever and allergies as the active ingredient Fexofenadine is an Antihistamine. Older Antihistamine medication used to have a common side effect of drowsiness, but newer Antihistamine medication such as Telfast 180mg is much less likely to make you sleepy or reduce your co-ordination and reaction speed.
You should take one Telfast 180mg tablet daily to help ease your allergy symptoms. Telfast 180mg will start to take affect within an hour and will remain effective for around 24 hours.
It’s recommended you take Telfast 180mg with a glass of water before a meal. If you forget to take a tablet, don’t double dose to make up for it. Just wait until the next time you’d usually take your Telfast 180mg tablet.
You should talk to your pharmacist or prescriber before taking Telfast 180mg tablets if you have, or had, problems with your liver, kidneys or any kind of heart disease. Telfast 180mg sometimes isn’t recommended for pregnant women.

If you’re taking any remedies for indigestion that include magnesium or aluminum, you should wait at least two hours between taking the indigestion remedy and Telfast 180mg tablets. Otherwise your body may not absorb the active ingredients of Telfast 180mg as effectively.
You should avoid drinking fruit juices such as apple, orange and grapefruit when taking Telfast 180mg tablets , as its effectiveness could be inhibited.
Although Telfast 180mg is known as a non-drowsy Antihistamine, it’s still possible (though less likely) to experience drowsiness as a side effect. You shouldn’t drink alcohol when taking medicine with potentially sedative effects such as Telfast 180mg tablets .
