As an online pharmacy, we recognize the difficulties that members of the LGBTQ+ community face when it comes to access to healthcare. According to a 2017 National LGBT survey at least 16% of survey respondents who accessed or tried to access public health services had a negative experience because of their sexual orientation, and at least 38% had a negative experience because of their gender identity.
We believe everyone has the right to access healthcare either online or in-person without fear of being misunderstood, misgendered, or not being taken seriously.
Part of our promise is to create a more inclusive and LGBTQ+ friendly service and increase our knowledge of the needs of our LGBTQ+ patients. Our journey towards this starts with you. We want to hear from a wide variety of people within the LGBTQ+ community on their experience accessing healthcare (as well as specifically pharmacy) and how we can help to improve people’s experience.
Click here to take part in our quick survey outlining your experience accessing healthcare and what could be done better. The results of this survey will be used in combination with staff training and improvements to our website to create a more inclusive and accessible service for members of the LGBT+ community.
